Greenhill is a beautiful winery and vineyard in the Middleburg, Virginia AVA with stunning vistas and views of the Blue Ridge and Bull Run mountain ranges. A gorgeous estate, Manor House (the former Swendenburg Estate) offers an excellent and gracious wine tasting, beautiful tasting rooms, wine club and everything we wine lovers enjoy. We have included Greenhill in our Top Ten Virginia Wineries for our readers to visit in 2014. Everything at Greenhill speaks of excellence and elegance.

Our favorite wine choice:  Philosophy 2009

Winemaker:  Sébastien Marquet
Winemaker Tasting Notes:
“Composed of the 4 Bordeaux classic grape varietals, this Right Bank style Greenhill blend is 40% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. When poured, a dark deep red color, well suited for the glass, awaits a sexy swirl.  The fruity nose of black currant, black cherry and some spice is very complex.  This earthy red blend with wood oak flavors is perfectly balanced on the palate.  Philosophy is the ideal pairing with a grilled steak lightly adorned with Herbes de Provence, and deep conversations about reasoning, convictions, and ideology!”
