Dom Virginion Horton Vineyards Style

Horton Vineyards

If you are looking for a fabulous wine experience Horton Vineyards should be on the top of your wine tasting-touring list. Horton has been a favorite of Wine Chics and wine lovers since we can remember and what is there not to love about this winery. The wine owner extraordinaire Dennis Horton, his witty personality, wine knowledge and experience is a wine-lovers treat in itself. The generous wine tasting is a delight to the palate whether red, white, fruit, or dessert wines, each is unique and a treat for the wine lover.

A few of our favorites:

2008 Nebbiolo (Dry Italian Red): Famous for making Barolo in Italy, this Nebbiolo has powerfully rich wild herb & cherry aromas followed by intense raspberry flavors.

2008 Reserve Cabernet Franc (Dry Silky Red) Our best Cab. Franc chosen from the 2008 vintage.
Aged in all new French Oak barrels for 24 months.

2012 Viognier (Spicy Rhone White): Exotic Honey and tropical fruit aromas jump from the glass.
Full-bodied, viscous mouthfeel. A classic Condrieu.

NV Rojo XOCO (Red Chocolate Dessert Wine) Made with Touriga Nacional & Chocolate essence. (Absolutely stunning for desserts!)

Horton is a beautiful vineyard with gorgeous grounds and vistas and excellent winery for weddings and events located in beautiful Orange County on the Monticello Wine Trail.

“Dennis’s 1993 Viognier is considered by many to be the finest Viognier ever produced in this country,” said Bruce Zoecklein, Virginia’s oenologist and past president of the American Society of Oenology and Viticulture. “And he is without question a leader in the industry. His willingness to plant varieties new to Virginia, particularly the Viognier, without any guarantee of success, has greatly enhanced the state’s standing in the wine industry” nationally and internationally.”_WashingtonPost
